I’ve long admired living walls in homes and businesses. The soothing green and feeling of nature brought indoors especially during the pandemic when we’re feeling anxious and can’t leave our house. I love living walls, but I was also afraid to lose our mirrored wall.
In July, we went to a garage sale at an event company. Bought up 5 boxes of fake boxwood, monstera leaves, and various vines. My initial thought was to attach the boxwood and leaves to the ceiling in the tiki room. But on getting home I saw the perfect opportunity to finally have my living wall. I thought we would have to remove the mirrors, but Chris found a clever solution and we installed foam spacers between the mirrors and the lattice. The boxwood was stapled to the lattice and I ziptied the leaves and vines to the boxwood. Later I found some dark charcoal colored plastic planters that I placed in and around the monstera and filled with real plants. So I kinda really do have a living wall!
