So the main purpose of this whole trip to Nepal was to travel to a couple of villages in the Solukhumbu District of Nepal to help with the development of women’s education in the area for Bridges Between.
Another emphasis was cultural exchange. I got a lot of that. Tried to bring some “Murican” culture there to exchange – brought Slinkys, a Whoopie Cushion, and Pop Rocks (I think I got the better part of the deal). Also taught a knitting class to the women in the villages and got a private cooking class on making pumpkin dhal!
Flight to Phaplu was delayed a day due to the prime minister coming in. We flew out the next day in the mid-morning. Spent the rest of day hiking up to Ringmu. Next day we hiked to Cchulemu, where we spent most of our time. Our hosts’ Dawa, Youngdi, and Lucki are the uncle and aunts to Tsering our guide.
