I decided that the swamp cooler would be too hard to explain and too personal for the new owners of the Great Dale, so I decided to remove it.
Lina happened to pull out the crappy humidifier around the same time. As I was dreading listening to the noise from it, I realized that it was really just a evaporative cooler with another name.
So I raised the water level limiter in the Great Dale swamp cooler and rewired it to completely shut off if the water was too low and turn on LEDs depending on different conditions. It turns out the old water level sensor was damaged and blew up the first power supply I connected it to, but I found a small board that would sense the level that would be safer instead.
I then tied it to our home automation system so that it automatically turned on and off at 10am to 4 pm.
Now we have a relatively quit solution that lasts for weeks before refilling.
