Our day started with fantastic views of Mt Fuji in the morning.
Followed by the most wonderful breakfast buffet that included food from around the world.
Then Lina’s cousin met us and we were able to unload all of the presents that Lina brought for them and free up some space in the suitcases, which were starting to bulge in all directions. Then Lina’s cousin brought out bags and bags of chocolates, magnets, and kimonos. Apparently there was more, but her husband convinced her that it was too much! 🙂
Lina’s family took us to the Fujikawaguchiko Ropeway view of Mt Fuji, which starts with a gondola tram ride to a peak that has beautiful views of Mt. Fuji and some some fun areas based on a book. We also went on the swings facing Mt Fuji for our allocated three-minutes.
Then we went for lunch and tried some new Japanese foods.
Then they took us on a boat ride around the lake.
Followed by a cheesecake location we saw on the shuttle ride to the hotel that we wanted to try to see how close to the Japanese-style cheesecakes I make at home are to the real thing. Turns out they are pretty close.
They dropped us off at the hotel and we waddled in after saying our goodbyes, wondering how we were going to eat dinner at the hotel. Turns out that the dinner was amazing and we managed to finish it all off, even though the waiter had to give us some hot-pot tips.
