This workbench was one of the first woodworking projects I ever built. Parts of the design sucked because the instructions called for tracks routed into plywood that were almost immediately trashed. The holes for handles were also a bad idea. I had to remove the sliding doors and a couple of them were sacrificed to the project gods. Two doors were still alive, so I added some metal tracks to hold all of the stuff held in the drawers of the larger workbench that is moving into Lina’s garage to make room for the CNC machine base.
Here are the two original doors all assembled.
Here are the new doors. I’ve decided that shop projects don’t need finishing to make time for real projects where looks matter.
I also moved the heater to help with the new shop layout.
