We had a photographer come to our house in 2021 to take pictures of our Tiki space. He asked some questions about the history of the Tiki room and it turns out I had completely mis-remembered its construction. Then I realized that I never posted anything about its construction on the blog. Here it is 6 years later.
When we bought the house, the patio had a roof and looked like this:
We started buying stuff and filling up the area
Then we decided to enclose it and I found a cool product called Eze-Breeze that allowed us to create a custom configuration and allowed the windows to open up or down. So I got to work on my CAD program and making measurements trying to find the optimum window configuration
Lina picked the trim and we ordered the windows. Meanwhile, I got to work installed the 4×4″ supports and electrical. They almost all went in without a hitch, but I did need to carve out a small section and ended up cutting my hand with my new chisels in the process. The doctor was stunned when he realized that I actually missed the tendons by mm, because he had just interned as a hand specialist and assumed I was heading to surgery when he first examined me.
The end result looked great:

And Lina turned it into a Tiki room
