The Subaru headlights were starting to become useless because the plastic turned foggy. I tried one of those “renew’ kits that did absolutely nothing to help the issue.
It turns out you can’t just buy the lenses, you have to buy the entire assembly at $300 a pop for each side if you want official Subaru parts. Amazon sells some after-market versions for $200 for both so we tried that.
There was a little hiccup because the new assemblies use a different type of bulb that is supposedly better. I found out during this process that you have to remove the bumper to replace most of the bulbs, so I replaced them all while I had the bumper off.
After the assemblies were installed with only one extra part and three broken clips (don’t play with plastic in the winter), we had to go to a nearby parking lot to aim the lights because no roads in our neighborhood are straight.
Looks pretty good in the end.
