Chris has a job here in Buffalo, Wyoming and we arrived a few days early and just by chance in time for the annual National Basque Festival.Who knew Wyoming had more than just rodeos?( I swear there is a rodeo in every single town we went through here! this being the Cowboy State and all.)There was folk dancing, food and arts & crafts.I spent way too money and time at one of the wool tents.
We each had a lukienka. It’s lamb sausage served hot dog style. But they also had lamburgers, lamb sandwiches, wine and cheese, and some good kettle corn. The folk dancing was fun and the band Tapia was very good.We went to the Johnson County Fairgrounds later that night to hear some music and catch some dancing but it wasn’t the same.
We also missed the sheep dog trials while I was buying wool. But we were able to see a shepherds’ hook in action.
