Here’s a link to the Parks Canada webpage for the Louisbourg Fortress. The historical re-enactors all did a great job. When we first walked in we were treated to a talk by a young soldier at the guard station. She told us what life was like to be a soldier for the British army. I believe we were told that the fortress has one of the world’s largest collections of items from the 1700’s. All dug up on site.
The fortress had so many great details to help bring the place to life. My favorite detail were the live farm animals in pens all over the place, goats, horses, chickens, sheep and geese.
