Wow I can hardly believe I finished the quilt I started over a year ago! It seems like it was just yesterday that I started the quilt with Lynne, my fabulous mom-in-law. I couldn’t have done anything without all of her help and guidance.
It is a memory quilt made of my old roller derby t-shirts. Most of the shirts are from teams that I played with or against. A couple are just t-shirts that I liked and wore during practices. The part that took the longest was cutting up the shirts and piecing all the strips together. I knocked the quilting bit out in a few days compared to the month of piecing. The rest of the time the quilt languished in my craft room waiting for me to take it back to Canada for completion. Whew! Lynne asked me if this was my first and last quilt. I said it’s probably a lot like childbirth for me, I’ll probably make another one when I forget how difficult and painful the first one was to bring into the world. Lynne was the perfect midwife/mentor. She helped me through every step of the way. So now if I do decide to make another one I know what to do!
