It’s our last full day in Japan and Lina needs to get her shopping done. We started the day at the largest vintage/antique market in Japan, which had over 250 vendors. We got there early by Japanese standards, but it got crowded fast. I didn’t take many pictures because it’s frowned upon. One hipster had a sign saying,”I don’t care about your instagram, I have one myself”.
The busiest stall was the one selling used kimonos for 1100 yen (about $9). I took a picture of the madness inside and then Lina asked me to take a picture of all the men waiting on the sidelines.
This market had the same vibe as one in the USA, but the actual antiques were usually plates and porcelain.
We shopped all day and Google Maps just kept getting worse. We happened across a J-pop performance and were stunned to see a car driving down the street.
The crowds in the busiest intersection were still crazy.
Lina had to get her picture taken with the famous statue of Hachiko:
After Google Maps told us to go to an empty building for dinner, we went to the area we went to the day before for what seemed to be what Americans would naturally do with ramen. “You know what would make this ramen better. Let’s put some fried chicken and cheese in it!” It was very delicious. Lina remembered that her camera had to eat first.
Then we stopped in for some cocktails before calling it a night.
Garmin says 4 miles today.
