Finding a dog bed for Cholo was difficult. They were always too big or too small.. and stuff like this drove me crazy
So I decided to make a dog bed perfectly sized for him. We had an extra memory foam bed topper left over from an uncomfortable Airbnb that we could use as a base, so we headed to Joanne’s and got some 60%-off plush fabric.
I searched the interwebs for dog bed patterns or plans and couldn’t find anything I liked, so I decided to put those hours of watching Sailrite videos on Youtube to use and designed my own.
This was my first sewing project with my new/old Singer 201K machine and I think it turned out great.
Then I got cocky. Tequila always wants to sleep with us, which is pain. So, I decided to make a bed for her on top of the quilt chest at the foot of the bed. Turns out I got lucky the first time by making a circular bed. The same design did NOT work with a rectangular bed. I bought more fabric to make a new one, but Lina convinced me it was good enough because now Tequila sleeps in it every night.
Its on the list for replacement, but I’m sure another project will always take priority. Restoring the chest was on my list, but now the bad parts are covered, so it actually knocked out two projects.
